WORKING WITH MUMS
Why do I work with mums?
As a mum of 3, I am fascinated by the positive effect that we could potentially have on our own experience throughout pregnancy, and motherhood and therefore our baby's development and health.
A growing body of research shows that antenatal stress can have significant effects on pregnancy, maternal health and infant health and development.
It has long been known that sensitive and responsive maternal caregiving behavior is vital for the healthy emotional, cognitive and social development of a child. Research indicates that the quality of maternal caregiving not only impacts a child's development but can also result in changes in gene expression (via epigenetics).
The transgenerational transmission of maternal behavior means that we tend to parent how we were parented. In essence, the quality of our parenting may impact the quality of parenting these children later provide to their offspring.
So here I am, following my absolute calling to provide a service which supports mums, and gets them prepared for this precious and seismic transition. An awareness of the necessity of self love and self care for the mum, will benefit everyone and create a thriving environment for the family.
My offerings to you come from a place of love with the intention that I can remind you of how you can prepare yourself mentally, emotionally and spiritually for the welcoming of your beautiful baby.
My own experience has guided me towards mind and body practices which I feel compelled to share with you.

“The way we experience pregnancy and motherhood matters — shaping not only our babies, but generations to come.
When a mother is nurtured mentally, emotionally and spiritually, the whole family flourishes.”

Holistic Wellbeing for Pregnancy
Mother Nurture classes offer gentle, nurturing support for mums-to-be, focusing on relaxation, emotional wellbeing, and connection during pregnancy.
Research in epigenetics shows that a mother’s stress levels, emotional state, and environment during pregnancy can influence how a baby’s genes are expressed — without changing DNA itself. High stress may impact a baby’s developing stress-response system, while calm, supportive experiences can help encourage resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Mother Nurture classes are designed to support this nurturing prenatal environment through calming, holistic practices that benefit both mother and baby.
What to Expect
- Each in-person session gently blends:
- Guided meditation
- Soothing Reiki
Together, these practices help reduce stress, promote deep relaxation, and encourage mindful bonding with your growing baby.
Classes are suitable for all stages of pregnancy, with no prior experience needed.

What self love mind and body practices do I offer?

Pregnancy Massage
The connection between stress relief and body massage suggests that touch may heal the disturbed psychological status of a stressed individual. It's likely that the sensory stimulation from massage transforms into epigenetic modulation resulting in altered gene expression that triggers a positive change in the neurons, along with wellness and relaxation!
This altered gene expression in mum can be passed on to baby and impact the baby's health and development, known as epigenetic inheritance!

Meditation
Research shows that meditation can positively influence mental wellbeing and even affect gene expression through epigenetics. During pregnancy, meditation may support fetal brain development, emotional health, and overall wellbeing.
Meditation has also been shown to help prevent and reduce depression during pregnancy, improving quality of life for mums and supporting babies’ future social and cognitive development.

Reiki
Reiki can help to support you through the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual changes of pregnancy. Reiki sessions promote deep relaxation, which results in a change in endocrine and inflammatory activity.
Make this a regular practice throughout pregnancy, to bring calm to you and your baby.

Drumming
Gentle rhythmic drumming provides a deeply grounding and soothing experience, supporting emotional release and a sense of safety. The steady rhythm helps calm the nervous system, encouraging relaxation and balance while creating a shared sensory experience for both mother and baby. The vibrations can promote a feeling of connection, presence, and harmony, allowing space to unwind, reflect, and restore.
